What about those rare rarth metals like Neodymium, Samarium and Lanthanum found in the high power magnets inside hard drives, is there a way to reclaim those chemically? And is it worth it? I would imagine so since these metals seem to be very expensive...

Yes Robert,you can recover those metals but they are not precious metals.

The good new is that there are many many tonns of Neodymium,Samarium,Lanthanum and Tantalum in all the scrap we send to trash,once that we have picked up the PM metals.
