Ok, I am new and have read on the forum, so please don't bash me. I am looking for a refiner that will take Jewelry. I have a ton of rings ranging from 10k to 14k white gold and yellow gold. I also have other broken gold stuff. I just want someone that can make all into some bars and maybe buy some to cover the cost. Most of this jewelry has diamonds and other precious jems also. It would be supper if they could buy the gems or at least sepperate them, but I guess I can do it if all else fails. I am planning, with info from this forum which rocks, on scrapping some gold from some gold plated stuff. So I will soon have that to send, but I really need a reliable refiner that deals in jewelry and maybe buys gems. Or somewhere that buys gems period.

If you indeed have a "ton" of rings I'm sure members on the forum will buy them up and you can feel safe doing business here. If I were you I would seperate all the stones myself. If you sent them away and that service was even offered, I think you would come up short on stones when they are returned. We talk about this often on the forum. Many refineries(NOT ALL) steal.

You will get better answers to your questions if you get specific. Most members read tons of material as 'I've got a few rings and I'm fishing' and ignore the post. If you indeed have a quantity of karat scrap for refining be more specific. You can and should have the stones chemically removed by a refiner if you wish to get your stones back, I know of refiners in the NYC area who seal their vessels so you can secure the stones and return in the morning to witness the process. You take your stones with you when you leave. An alternative would be to read up on the forum and process them yourself.

Now it's your turn, how much is a "ton"?
