hi all im doing my first batch of gold fingers i was wondering if it was ok to use 36% hydrochloric acid instead of 32%

Yes, that would work just fine. Just don't use too much peroxide. Welcome aboard!

ok ive made up my solution of hydro acid 36% and copper II chloride to strip the gold foils of the fingers.. it seems to be working
i also have a heap of gold pins.. i have read alot of stuff about it but there is so many ways to do this...
im going to do AR with 36% hydro acid 1:1 mix with water and nitric acid probably only 3 or so mills and make it about 60-80'C... dose this look like im on the right track theres so much to read and it gets a little confusing...

Don't dissolve gold plated pins in AR, unless you mean kovar pins that are attached to ceramics. Remove the base metals first by CuCl2 or remove the gold selectively by a sulfuric cell.

Regarding the HCl 36%, I don't like it because of the nasty fumes. I would always dilute it to under 25-30%, if possible.
