Hi all. I'm new to this process, so please be gentle. I started out by wanting to make a gold solution, that I could use in gilding glass. I have some commercial products I purchased last winter, but when I went to use it, it took 1/2 of the solution (which was supposed to do 8 sq. ft, but only did 1 so far. In all honesty, I probably screwed up when I prepared the glass (cleaning). So, being a guy who likes too buck the system and do it all myself, I find myself in possession of a gallon of 30% nitric acid and a liter of HCL and some of my wife's jewelry. Now, how do I make AR and how do I get it to stick to glass. I have other chemicals that came with the gilding chemicals, like gold activator (Sodium (1) carbonate anhydrous) and gold reducer (formaldehyde). Thanks for any info. I can get.
