Jace Butler here...
Recent curiosity into a backyard foundry build lead me here. I planned on melting and casting aluminum for kicks. As I started to collect aluminum scrap, I realized how much money - in minerals we Americans actually throw away. I have a large family, and as many people - have debt that I'd like to wash away (work, pay off, and not return to). Hopefully this venture will help with that, as I learn. Clearly, I have much to learn - though I do believe that about 80% of my challenge is conquered. SAFETY is number 1!!!!!! Dying or getting sick in the pursuit negates the purpose. Blessings...

Welcome Jace. I heard once that in America, enough aluminum cans (beer, pop) were thrown out ever year to re-skin the entire USAF fleet twice! That is one awful amount of aluminum. Here in little ol' Canada we have a pretty good recycling program and there aren't a lot of aluminum cans going to the dump. I pick up pretty much any metal thing I come across and have got a fair sum from the scrap yard over the years - mainly from copper.
