Nitric in AR test?

This is what I have learned here so far, one of these ways should work for you.
By measuring the ph of the solution, you should have a reading above 1.0 to show the excess nitric has been consumed.
or...
Aside from only adding the nitric as needed in small increments until all material is consumed the easiest way is to have a small gold BB on hand to add to the AR solution to use up any excess.

One drop of Ferric Chloride Solution in AR, if you get red fumes there is still Nitric present. Just another way to test.

yes there is one test using starch paper ,u please find it i think starch paper in lead acetate on fumes shows colour change.
