I've been pulling out all the boards that I've had stashed over the years cuz I'm going to cash them in. It's time to unload. I'm getting too old to cart this stuff around anymore. (not really, but I thought it was a good excuse) So here's a pic of the IBM stuff. I keep finding a few more items of IBM stuff whenever I drag out another crate. I always have thought that it was weird that IBM would coat the chip with this clear jelly stuff, thats hard to rub off.-Y-

Y,
If you have the part that some of those boards plug into, pins not the slots, they should be palladium (pins that is), small amount of gold plated on the female side. The black connectors pull off fairly easily. As for the chips....I haven't found any that were soldered to the board to have much of any pms...your results may vary, so when in doubt, test test test. The socketed ones should have either palladium or gold pins. If you suspect Pd, put a piece on a spot plate and put a drop of nitric on it. If its palladium, you'll see an orangish, reddish brown solution, to be sure test with stannous. Some older chips do have collector value, but I'm not sure if these do.
