pm and copper sulfate

hi guys,

i'm new to the site, and have been looking around a bit. great site btw. I have a chem 101 background from 10 years ago, so i have forgotten quite a bit. could someone please tell me what the pm is and what and where i can get copper sulfate? thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum.

PM has two main meanings here.

First it means Precious Metals, second it means Private Message. You can send a member a Private message using the button labled PM by their posts.

Copper Sulfate is a by product of dissolving Copper in Sulfuric as happens when you run a reverse plating cell. It can be purchased online as a salt, just use google.

thanks so much. for some reason the copper sulfate was just throwing me for a loop. i'm about ready to redo my old chem classes, lol.

Copper sulfate can be purchased at pools shops and hardware stores in the pool section. I see it in 5 lb tubs for ~$20.
