The one you linked is most likely process utilizing cyanide.
 
I watched the long one that was about getting the pins dissolved in Nitric. The main problem seemed to be understanding when the pins were actually dissolved, which they weren't before putting in AR.
 
would cyanide be that fast?

Back in the day I was running a Mil Spec plating shop and we stripped gold plated contacts in Cyanide Peroxide. The parts stripped in minutes, in fact they stripped so fast you had to constantly remove them and check because we were stripping for rejected gold finish and had to save the parts to re-plate them. So you had to stop at the copper plating beneath the gold. You had to be careful because the strip solution didn't want to stop.

In jewelry manufacturing they do a polish using the same chemistry to polish gold, it is called bombing solution. It can easily blow over. (yes I said blow)

The reaction is very fast.
