Howdy you all.
I've had to take a break for awhile due to my doc giving me a diagnosis of ms...
In any case, I ain't dead yet :)
Ha a trucking company contact me to recycle the communications domes that sit atop their rigs. After disassembling one, this is what I found, in addition to 6#s of aluminum, and 2#s of pcbs.
Your thoughts on processing would be appreciated. I tend to keep it as simple as possible, liking the acid/peroxide method.
Thanks much,
Jim

I have had some similar boards com my way, especially in cell phones. Normally I cut the gold parts away from the rest wherever possible (you will find most boards can be cut quite easily with normal kitchen shears). Then I proceed to process them as I do fingers, etc. Hope that helps!

Well, the plating on these cards is tenacious for sure. Unlike finger foils, the particles of gold are very small, dissolving in acid peroxide solution to some extent. I'm attempting to determine the amount of recoverable Au, but will need to drop what values are in solution to have an accurate assessment.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Jim
