Good morning all:

I've been reading/lurking here for some time....and would like to say thanks to everyone here for all
the fantastic info. I'm pretty small-scale, nowhere never the caliber of some of y'all! :) I've been
accumulating PM scrap and done a little processing, with success. You guys are great, my thanks to all!

My question is about the white 'mylar'(?) sheet with the metallic dots that adheres to a cellphone key-
board contact area. I've tried using the forum search engine but can find little reference. I've seen
references on google and on youtube, that the metal dots contain silver. I tried testing them with an
acid/stone kit...and they *seem* to test positive for silver, so have been keeping them.

Was wondering if anyone here can confirm that the dots are silver, or has any experience with processing
them? I haven't enough silver material yet to do try any processing. Thanks for any input. A pleasure
speaking with all of you! :)

The sheet is plastic and the dots are stainless steel. No PM value.

Does that apply to all mobile phones in perpetuity or modern ones?

The difference is some very old cellphones have bigger dots.I will say like Geo they are made of springy chrome steel, but i wonder why the contact point are pure gold (or carbon) and why the dot is not plated with gold or palladium.I try ti incinerate some dots and the all get red pretty fast(ferrooxide)

Ah, I see......thanks for the clarification. Guess I'll concentrate my efforts on good ol' yellow gold.....lots easier to recognize!

Again, thanks!
