I'm checking to see if anyone has any experience with recovering gold on military radar dishes. I had one given to me about 3 feet in diameter with some type of gold fiber cloth glued to about half the surface of the dish. The cloth is clear coated over the dish and partially painted in places. Any suggestions on recovery? Regards, Chris Hyder.

It is possible that it is gold fiber cloth,it was used to inhibit "cross-talk" interferance on a lot of mil-spec dishes. You can always do a quick nitric test to see.You will most like find a scrambling board under the neck of the reciever that should have a fair amount of gold on it as well.
