Hi,
I just noticed something I hadn't seen before in some auction listings. If a gold filled item is described as 12/20 or 14/20, should I assume that means the same thing as 1/20 12k or 1/20 14k respectively?

Thanks,

The other pic is "dont buy bull.."
So, avoid these, unless theyre cheap and you have a solid electro cell setup

I see you have the vermeil on sterling listed in your "don't buy" list

The vermeil on sterling is well worth buying even if you have to pay spot for the silver content (.925 X spot) Vermeil is a "very" heavy plate --- on a 2" vermeil .925 coin there is about $7 worth gold

As pointed out buy Chris (GSP) in this thread  http://goldrefiningforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=23345&p=245919&hilit=vermeil#p245896

Edit to add; - Also I buy ANY gold plated sterling even if the plating is very light - it works good for inquarting Karat scrap giving you the bonus of the gold plating in the inquartation process --- just buy it as you would normally buy sterling (something under spot)

I have yet to see any of that type of gd first hand, but, if and when i do, i will most certainly buy it, and think of you.
Then i will come here, and thank you again!
