Hello board !

First things first, i'm really new to scrap/salvage, in fact i'm a real noob !

I bought several Magnetrons for radars from a military surplus a couple of months ago, and after a lot of research I found that no one is using them anymore.

Each magnetron ( same but bigger than MicroWave magnetron) have 2 permanent Magnets +/- 10Kgs each (non ferrite magnet) and a core of copper.
I'm looking to sell the magnets for rare earth (30%) and I have no idea about this market, so i'm looking for some help !

Does anyone of you allready salvage this kind of products ?

Many thanks in advance

Mo

I would suggest doing some research to find out what is in them before taking them apart. Some contain Beryllium as an insulator (that white or pink band on the cone). That can be a bad thing to inhale if you break it. :|

Thank you for this advice Claudie, I was aware of that, but safety first ! allways !
