I've had a little experience with Uranium, it wasn't pleasant
Digging Sapphires from amongst gravel filled with a friable yellow clay material that later turned out to be a secondary Uranium enrichment zone. Digging, acid washing and heat treating the contaminated stones created some pretty adverse health issues
That was over 5yrs ago and I make sure I identify everything in an area i'm working now. Not just the stones or ores i'm after.
