We have confirmed that the balls in the Red (blue/white/etc) switches are only gold plated correct? I used the search function, and that seemed to be the general consensus, but yet it appeared there was some objectors that stated otherwise.

I have no way to test at this point, so reading/learning on here is my best option.

All the ones I've seen are plated. There's no technical reason why they would be solid and no manufacturer would use solid gold when they could get away with gold plate.

That's what I thought. Just didn't seem to make any sense to me why they would be solid. Also seems like a ton of work for a very little amount of plating.

Thanks for the info.

Per a typical one of their data sheets, the red Grayhill switches use a brass ball, with gold plating over a nickel barrier.
