Hi, all I have read this forum and all tutorials for couple month now, got all info with what acid to refine and ect.
I'm planning to recovery gold from pc parts at home like for a hobby and if im success run it into small business, now main issue im worry about is the harmful fumes from acid, is there any option to build scrubber or something what will make those fume harmless, I know I can build fume hood but that not what I need because fume hood just remove all fume from work place but they still dangerous and going outside.
I was thinking about purifying fume by water scrubber, could you advice how its should be done properly and what result will be off it, and if it done by water scrubber where that water should go, is it can be emptied to a drain :?:

nipote,
You are correct that scrubbing the fumes would be the best method, there are several posts on building scrubbers, here on the forum, I believe they may be in the dealing with waste section; a search of the forum should bring up many results, and give you several idea's of building your own.

No Nipote. Sometimes adding water makes the solution more dangerous!

You must research & learn the safe and correct way to recover & refine precious metals.

Download a copyof Hoke's & start reading; in her book she has all you need to know to get started the right way.

Take care & be safe!

Bubbling the fumes into water can create acids, the fumes are usually scrubbed in solutions that neutralize the acid created, and caustic solutions like NaOH would be what you are looking for, unless your goal is to make acid from the gases.

it still can be done that way just water which will become acid cannot be disposed anywhere, anyway better make proper one than mess about with dangerous waste
