Hi everybody,

Need some help here. i have 10kg of 14kt gold with palladium.

I disolve the gold in Aqua Regia and precipiate the gold with natriummetabisulfit but how can i precipiate the palladium??

How does it work?

thx Christo

Christo,

If you are new to refining you would be well served to throughly read Hokes book and the forum until you are comfortable with the general procedures and tests general to refining.

Next perform a small controlled experiment on 2 grams of the scrap just to get an idea of the yields, process, and reveal any problems you may find.

It would be a very big mistake to jump in and try to process the entire lot your first time around.

As for refining the scrap depending on the percentages of base metals, Gold, and Palladium present you will pursue the problem differently.

Do you know if the scrap contains any silver?

What other metals are in the scrap?

Steve

Hi, yes i m new in this. just started a company last month.

its a bare containing 14kt and 18kt of gold, mixed with Ag,Cu and Pd.

My worry is the Pd, the other metals i can manage. :)
i thought you just can precipiate the Pd as you can the Gold, no?

Or is there a different method?
