Small additions of sulfamic acid to a warm solution with plenty of stirring. The best way to tell that the solution is nitric acid free when using sulfamic acid is by stirring and watching the bubbles. If tiny bubbles are formed at the edge of your stirring utensil, it is still reacting. Be sure to check the formulation as there are several different formulas. Make sure it is H3NSO3 or it will not convert the nitric acid to N2O.
