Returning to civilization after 14 years on Texas border doing border interdiction operations. Preparing to do some serious hobby work in refining and processing in my "GOLDEN" years.

Welcome to us.
Many items may have greater value as collectibles than raw material for refining.
It may be better to check them for sale.

Still it looks like a fine stash.

Have no idea how the photos duplicated on here? should only be about 4-6 photos, but this is all purchased for TRIALS and ERRORS in delving into the processes. ANYTHING is better than turning illegals in to Border Patrol only to have to watch those demoralized agents having to process them and then turning them loose. Our country deserves better, but I am now retired! SO! It's play time for me. By the way, has anybody ever compiled a true list of preferred and necessary glassware for these projects?

I believe in Hoke there is a list with each process, but it really depends on your plan. Once you write out your plan how to process one type of material, you will know what you need.

Heat proof lab glas ware is preferred, some use coffee pots, they are very thin. Carefull with tossing heavy metal in those🤟

Beakers are better for beginners imo. Flasks can boil over and erupt like a volcano.
Filters and funnels, waste buckets, gloves, etc. etc.
Again, reading Hoke will give you a good idea.

Refining is fun and has given me much satisfaction over the years. Just keep safety in mind and learn enough about how to talk the talk that you can get your chemicals without getting your name on the DHS watch list. Even though it doesn’t sound like that is much of a problem with your past experience. Refining uses a lot of nitric acid and there are other uses for that, and they csn get you scrutinized a bit more than you would like.
