Can you give us an idea on what you are paying on fines, clinkers, and nuggets? How do you determine the price?

Richard

fines from #12-#18 I will pay 83% of spot by weight, clunkers 85%, anything bigger 87%. I KNOW that SOME nuggets assay as high as 92% or so and if thats the case I dont want them, I am after the alaska, california, idaho or nevada gold that is typically 78-83% pure. Sellers can do better by selling on ebay, 1 by 1, or even my site but with lots of work and fees (although my site is 100% free, no commisions for sellers). I buy in bulk and sell in bulk and for some people thats attractive

Why don't you want the 92 percent gold nuggets? I assume because most consumers won't pay more for nuggets with a higher gold content? Dumb question, but what would a jeweller pay for an ounze of 92 percent clunkers. Thanks.

Jeweller will not pay you much as even that they are 92% they will need to be refined. Refiner might pay you 92% minus fees or less than 92% without charging any fees.

only 92 percent??????? drugs.

I dont understand what you said.
Did you see jewellry from 92% of gold? If you will be buying gold are you going to pay 92% for 92% gold? Or will you pay 100% for 92% gold? Whoever who buy that gold may want to refine that and it will cost something.

If you want more you have to try ebay and set price to cover whatever you expect to get + all fees. You might be lucky and maybe you sell that first time. If not then relist and increase price for relisting charges.

You asked what will jeweller pay.
Bigger pieces or nuggets will sell over spot but that is beacuse of collectors, not jewellers.

Yea even these days bigger nuggets dont go for much over spot. I frequently sell nuggets of 2 or 3 or 4 ounces even at Spot
