Hi folks. can any one tell me if there are any values in semiconductor amplifiers such as these? Sorry I posted in too much haste yesterday and got the description wrong. I received a box of these with a bunch of processors and I C's i bought yesterday. I googled the heck out of them and cannot find anything on their contents, so I thought I would throw it out there to you experts. I have almost 20 pounds of them. Here they are. Tell me what you think.

Ok here are pics of the inside....

Each one I opened up has blocks of metal. Any one?

The box is a mixture of audio amplifiers, power regulators, convergence modules, and other relatively new generation hybrid integrated circuit modules.

As far as values the internal works are a mixture of MOSFETs, surface mounted passive components like resistors and capacitors, with silk screened interconnecting conductive traces. There could be a variety of base metals and precious metals depending on the exact components in the box. Don't expect much in the way of precious metals as the packages and legs are heavy compared to the possible sprinkling of precious metals in each.

You are looking at a lot of work to get the tiny yields in each type if present at all. A powerful shredder with a magnetic separator to catch the iron may make the job bearable. You'll likely find a lot of aluminum and/or copper from the built in heat sinks also.

Thanks Steve. That is what I needed to know. They will go on a shelf for a rainy day. I noticed the wires on the heatsinks in the unit with the 4 large squares are very very soft and malleable. Silverish in colour and not tarnished. I will try to post a pic.My camera's macro mode is crap.

Could be. I will torch a wire tomorrow if there is time. Seems almost as soft as lead.

I have processed a batch of these before. They came out of old welding units. The backs are usually copper. Unless they are light in weight(Al) or magnetic( steel). The wires are not silver. I tested with schwerters. I think they may be aluminum or tin as earlier stated. I processed mine for there copper content and moved on. Not worth the bother.
