So I made up some silver chloride for a customer that wanted it for mixing with cement. Evidently, silver not only is a anti microbial and bacterial, but it also prevents the growth of things like black mold.

So now I'm wondering if anyone has recovered silver chloride from cement. Seems like if a building was being turn down that had silver in the cement, that could very well be a very lucrative source for cement. Seems fairly straight forward as well, pulverize then recover the silver, process, convert, profit???

Silica, way too much trouble in my somewhat humble opinion to be worth the effort. The reason I put "silica" at the beginning of that sentence was simply to point out how much you will be dealing with if you plan to pulverize cement.

Scott that's the reason early eating utensils and dishes of the wealthy were made of silver it's anti bacterial properties, copper is very similar which is why early hospitals had copper door handles and knobs, many operating theatre items were and possibly still are made of silver or were silver plated. We remove silver and copper from our waste streams as it's deadly to the bacteria that does the dirty work of cleaning up our waste as well as the ones that kill us, they kill both indiscriminately.

I found this.

At a pound per cubic yard sounds expensive to install, and even more expensive to remove.
