New lead-free PC circuit boards use a different type of solder finish
If you examine the PC boards in your new HP or Compaq PC or receive a new circuit board from HP to install in your PC, you may expect the connectors to be shiny gold-colored and the solder pads and traces to be bright tin-colored. Don't be disappointed if the connectors, pads, or traces appear dull or oxidized, with a discoloration ranging from pale yellow to brilliant blue! The new boards contain a lead-free immersion silver-surface finish that is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

this appears to be the case with some satalite boards i have due to the odd inconsistant coloring among boards. I am still in the reading phase of my program but will test these among some of the first things I test as I would like to start simple.
