The photo shows in grams, I think it is just a typing error. If not, I am going to be studying extra hard how he processed it!

No typing error. The scale reads in grams. 1418.4 grams. Orvi said it was "1,418 kg". Since he's in Europe, he uses a comma where I would use a decimal point. So it's 1.418 kg, or 1,418 grams to us Yanks.

Thanks, I did not know that. But still, your eyesight is way better than mine.

Are the stripes the bright part or the dark?
I've seen, the Philippines using very funny ancient units.
Greetings to the other side!
As far as I know, they use normal metric ISO units officially.
Handymen tend to count inches and feet for general home construction.

But they have some things from the Spanish area.
They give time by Spanish and they count money by Spanish numbers.
Then they alternate by English and Bisaya/Tagalog for general counting.

Looks like fun:

Mass/weight:
  • 1 Dakot = 10 gramms
  • 1 Guhit = 100 gramms
  • 1 Kagitna = 1/2 kilos
  • 1 Gatang = 1 kilos
  • 1 Chimanta = 6 kilos
  • 1 Kaban = 25 kilos
Length:
  • 1 Piranggot = 1/2 inch
  • 1 Sandamak = 4 inch
  • 1 Dangkal = 8 inch
  • 1 Talampakan = 12 inch = 1 foot
  • 1 Bisig = 16 inch

Interesting, but are you sure it is not Malay or Bahasa.
I do not recognise anyone of these.
But then again I’m an alien😏

I did a few searches.
And Dakot is Tagalog and mean handful.
In Bisaya Dako is big

Next week I’ll be back in Europe😀

The website says, these are older units from the Philippines. But it's not important.

Are you back and keep staying in Europe or is it for vacation/business?

I wonder, how it looks if you're standing in the middle of a crowd of Philippines.
Blonde or red haired, bearded and 30 cm taller than all others? No chance to hide.

Times, when whole nations and nationalities were separated are long gone. But we stick to the used schedules, and also old measures. Bushels in agriculture, barrels in oil industry, copper is sold in lbs, gold in troy oz, diamonds in ct...
For example in EU owerwhelming majority of countries is metric, however, if you are going to buy steel piping and steel/brass fittings, they are still manufactured in inches :D not mm. But generally only to 2" :D then, many times, metric measures apply. With sewer PVC/PP pipes, measures are in milimeters :D

The worst thing on pipes, fittings and other plumbing threads is that 1'' is never 25.4 mm.
A 1'' fitting has about 33 mm on an outer thread and about 31.1 mm on an inner thread.
Plumbing is not logic!

Well standing out is what I would call it😀

Time will tell.

My wife just came back from Bohol.
She informs me that it is deep Tagalog and used in a different way, not precise like this.
It’s goes for finger lengths, finger spans and arm spans.
Weight is more in the handful and so on.
She could recollect it from the old people talking😏
