So how much gold would be in an LCD display board (or rather the LCD stick if you will)?

Very very few. If they are from asia, the pcb on the backside is sometimes flashplated, but very very thin...
Also the flat ribbon cable sometimes contains a bit gold or silver.
Not worth the chemicals , at least those that I have seen. May be different if mil spec or for industrial use.
LCD display is very price-sensitive if you think how cheap final products are...
