I have my gold button listed on e-bay at about spot price (including shipping),
i'm guessing that my low feedback on ebay (only sold there 4 things, all +) might scare buyers, or maybe the fact that i'm not in the US...
Fact is, that i need to liquidate my PM's for some other project that i'm working on...

Anyway, i was thinking to inquart my gold with silver and offer it here, so that maybe some of less experienced folks around here would want to practice a bit with karat gold refining.

I can offer 15 grams of 6K gold, that is ready for nitric leach.
The alloy is: 75% silver/25% gold
Both silver and gold was refined by me and are 99.9% or higher before alloying.

For the forum members i will offer them at 90% off-spot price of both metals + 3$ for shipping (Registerd AirMail).

Please PM me if you are intrested.
Thanks, Sam

I just bought it from his eBay listing. I'll use it to use up excess nitric when I process (Harold's advice) with AR and am too heavy handed with the nitric.

it was close enough to spot value for me and I'm always happy to help a fellow forum member.

Thanks Samuel !!

Do be aware, as the alloy, it won't work for that process. 75% silver will make it impossible for the gold to dissolve in AR. The resulting gold could be used, assuming it is extracted and melted to a button, however.

I bought the button @ 24 karat. He was looking for options in case it didn't sell on eBay, was going to inquart it and offer for sale here. I went ahead and bought it as pure gold.

Thanks for looking out for me though!

Cool! Now it makes sense! 8)

It may be a great opportunity for those with limited or no melting capabilities.

Throwing out a couple thoughts though. If someone does not have the ability to melt an inquart, it may be a good idea to cornflake it for them before shipping.

You should also make sure they have access to nitric as some jump the gun before they understand the chemistry.

Nice idea!

Just a note to let everyone know I've done two small deals with Samuel and both have gone perfectly smooth. It takes between 2 and 3 weeks to get items from him in Israel to me in the US but really costs very little in postage.

Deal with him with confidence!

Mike
