Stannous chloride

Seeking valued information from the group. I would like to know the meaning of slight positive or negative Steannous chloride test after denoxing sand samples using AR when prior to denoxing the test was a strong positive.

Free nitric in the solution can cause a false negative stannous test.

Another reason to use nitric sparingly.
