I cleaned out the ingot side of a Simplicity tank I bought 20 years ago. It had dried out and I rehydrated large amounts of green crystals and found a 2-3 ounce piece of what looked like dried gold mud. I tried to precipitate the gold using SMB which resulted in a 50 gram very white appearing metal. Read that SMB could precipitate silver and leave gold in solution. Did Stanous Chloride test and it showed a brown black liquid with lot of black particulate and purplish metallic film floating. Is this a positive, negative, or unspecific finding? Appreciate any help!

I can't say what this is.
Better use a cotton bud or a piece of paper.
I also never heared SMB drops Silver.
How did you rehydrate it?
