Has anyone here ever tried using ethanol to strip PM's from active carbon adsorbents? If possible is it hazardous to do so? Pros and cons?

There are a lot of papers around on the alcohol stripping of activated carbon, there are mines using the process commercially.

The bulk of mines use caustic cyanide stripping for reasons of safety, simplicity and reliability, very basic systems which are virtually bulletproof.

A good basic primer on strip types is available on the Denver mineral Engineers website.
