Switching Diodes

Anyone ever tried to recover gold from some of these diodes? The specs say they are gold plated.

Doesn't look like any kind of switching diode that I have ever seen.

looks more like LED's. i have came across quite a few gold LED's that the gold extended all the way to the end, but not enough to brag about.

The tape looks like a standard 8mm smt package making the part around 3mm in size. Verified by the picture you posted when I started writing this.

Look closely at the part and you can see it is less than 25% plated giving you at the most $0.02 each, probably less since you can buy them new on a reel of 5000 pcs for less than $100.00.

But gold is gold. So if you can get the reels for free you could make some money. But less than the cost of the new parts on the reel.
