I have several Ta capacitors from old boards ( 1975). They are no magnetic cap ( only in Fe conection). They were manufactured by SPRAGUE and KENET. Question : There are some silver in the cap of these Ta capacitors? Ag are used as electrode inside the cap? I have too another capacitors like those, but the cap are a silver alloy. These silvered cap capacitors were from 1960'.
I try to open some, but are very difficult to do this.

All of the silver electrolytic capacitors I've seen from that era were made from a silver tube with Ta inside. There was a clear plastic coating on the silver tube and they were very white, as compared to the Al or all Ta varieties. All of the silver ones I saw had about a 1/8" - 1/4" red or green plastic plug in one end of the tube. I'm thinking that the ones with the red plugs ran 40% Ag and the green ones ran 25%.
