Acid Peroxide (AP ) requires time, agitation, and a emerald green solution. The emerald green color is copper II chloride that is the work horse of the reaction. The agitation helps to expose the solution to the scrap.
Heat is not critical as long as the solution is not saturated or frozen. If you start seeing crystals or salts of any color forming then you need to address the temperature and concentration of the solution.
Study the copper chloride document on my website for excellent details of the reaction.
