There is nothing contained in that literature that you can't get here without spending a dime. This forum is loaded with knowledge that has been proven through years of practical application. What's more, it is offered free of charge.

Any time someone makes you an offer that appears to be too good to be true (gold for $20/ounce), it likely is.

Good point about being to good to be true.
As a newbie I have been trying to do my home work first.
As a prospector by hobby I ran across this board and doing my research.
After reading till 02:00 I think I need a basic refresher course in chemistry.
I have a Blue bowl and Desert fox for my finies.
Just looking to expand my knowledge base and broaden my search for PM'S
Thanks for the heads up; I am not willing to give up my hard earned cash without checking into something thoroughly.

I'm with Harold. You can learn more on the forum in 30 mins than reading her material from front to back. ( Most of which probaly came from the articles on this forum anyway.) If it's not in Hoke or the gold refining forum hand book, which has some good estimating articles. Then there's not much more she can tell you about it. Please trust me on this one. Me and megan go wayyy back. :twisted: :twisted:

Palladium; Thanks for your input. I have read many of your posts and your contribution is amazing.
I was under the agreement that the information gleamed from this forum was for research and personal use only; not to be used and reproduced with the intent for sale of said information.

I have been working with my son; Gunny Sargent Yacono who is in his second year of college at Illinois State University; He is my chemistry connection but with finals happening he doesn't have much spare time to work on this until Christmas.

To make a long story short......... When i put the first gold refining forum hand book together i use some marketing tech to track where the first 1,000 or so downloads went and who was opening them and what they were doing with the information. Don't worry i stopped that a long time ago and it was harmless code. I even showed it to Noxx before i did it.

The forum was just getting started and i use the information as a way to market and track the forums progress and growth. It takes more than you think to promote a web site when it's new. Plus we were in the middle of scam central with the ebay scammers ripping people off with false information and outlandish prices and stupid ideas based on false science. Megan is the queen of the hive. But back to ebay, not all ebay sellers that do the gold thing all around are bad. Just a select few. Most of the good ones are members here. They even use our information from time to time. Hey i don't have a problem with that, that's what we are here for. Even if they charge a small fee to cover their time i don't have a problem with that, but when you use free information from here and charge some one a couple hundred dollars for that same information that you got for free then i have a problem with that. She ain't the only one that i've done battle with. We have had people come on here promoting the damest crap you have ever seen. We had a guy on here last year called gold writer ( look him up ) that wanted to make an info commercial or something crazy to that effect. Anyway him and the Platinumills guy Robert Diller i think it was or something hooked up and was suppose to make it for the discovery channel. Who knows. Oh, and don't get me started on that Shor thingy. $ 500.00 for a price of plastic. I'll build one for $ 20.00 Hey i'm all for proffit, but come on now. Then there was the Rhodiumking.com , And the Professor ( He was funny ) Several people who can change lead to gold, scammers from south africa, You name it.

See now i done got all off the subject, Megan does me that way. Anyway i track ( or did ) a lot of people websites and the net to see where we stand and who is using the forum's information. It's written all over Megan AKA the golden chick's website. From having watched it for the last 2 years i can see where she prays on people for information and money. I don't much care for people like that. That's where the motto came from i put in my vids and the forum hand book " ALL FREE - ALL THE TIME " it really pisses all the scammers off.

I use to enjoy my little rounds here on the forum. Sometimes it got a little nasty and sometimes it was kind of funny. But had some of them worked their way in at the early stages then they would have been more likely to change the enviroment and the attitude of the forum, and at the early stages of a start up that ain't good for morale to attract new members.
It's been a long road. Had it not have been for Members like you lou ( and the rest, you know who you are ) then this forum would not exsist as it does today with the great diverse talent and information available no where else on the web. The forums Birthday is coming up in about 2 months now. It's the 2nd one. Most businesses fail in the first year, hey i'm betting this forum's here for a long time to come.

Anyway i have to stop talking before see gets me all wound up. :wink:

I ran about 5 lbs of costume jewerly
The result was a bead that was tiny. I hardly paid anything for the stuff, about 25 altoghter. I did learn a lot from having done it, but as they say education isn't cheap if its worth having. With time and chemicals I paid pretty good for that lesson.

I thing it could take hunfreds of pounds of plated/costume stuff to get an ounce of gold, so I don't see how you could get enough for 20 to yeild an ounce, unless seller overlooked something.

Well chuck, Let's just say......I was not happy with her stuff.

I will say, I bought her info before I knew about this forum.
And possibly....no....probably before this forum had started.
So I am not making any claims about were she got her info......just wasn't happy with what I got, or how I was treated after the purchases.

If your not happy with Megan, that's between you and her. I know of some things but obviously nat all. I've had nothing but good service out of her. She's answered all my questions in a way even this hard headed country boy can understand and even went beyond. What burned me was the claim of plaguerism. That I take offense to. There were things I learned from her that I had had no luck finding anywhere else. As a matter of fact, I was recomended to her by Prof. Ken Williams. The founder of the Basement Chemistry site. Good refrences as far as I'm concerned.
Heck, if the truth be told, just about anyone who has posted anything anywhere without crditing someone else has committed plaguerism. Matter of fact, there are some large corp. who, if they really cared, could charge this forum and several others with plaguerism.

I don't know these people selling refining materials out there and dont want to know them, anyone selling information, and devices freely obtained for those prices are just flat out crooks in my book, they are not providing a service for a fee, they are steeling from uneducated people. if they provide a service for a fee, great there business will survive, if not they will perish evintually.

Can we end the sniping and get back to reviewing whats in the the book instead of who's right or wrong. I thaught this thread was to inform us not bore us. If I'm wrong then I will accept my lumps and retrack this reply. My friend showed me the book and it does have very semilar information as other books and that is a review on the book itself and not on any person.

This forum is about refining not sniping. Please, I like this forum and would like to see the gloves come off and get back to refining subjects.

While it's important to respect opinions, it's even more important to safeguard and cherish the facts.


As far as borrowing information goes, I do from this forum and put it into my head about what works and what doesn't work. I would be a liar if I said that some things I read and some things I post on this forum couldn't be used for commercial gain.
