Often times the bulk of scrap I get is simply unwated computer stuff. In my last lot purchase I came up with some more interesting stuff than usual and thought I would share.
This one makes me think of that cell phone commercial where the guy says "Hello Moto". It is a Motorola HyperModule. Chips are a mixture of 88100's and 88200's
The last 4 pics are of a card that came out of a piece of AV equipment. There were 4 of these cards in the bay enclosure. The CPUs are about the same size as a Pentium I. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I pulled the first one out and saw all the heat sinks
The HyperModule I will likely place in the personal collection for a while (even though I have sworn off collecting CPUs). The other stuff was a shame to tear down as if someone needed it I would imagine it hard to come by. A small amount of reseach between the big G and fleabay showed it to be relatively obsolete stuff.
Unpictured are the 35 Miralite DVB satellite receivers that came along with the stuff as well. Better than most i have seen from a board standpoint. Small foot print with a pretty good population of chips. For now they are stacked in the corner in the shop
