Yes, melting and scraping are common methods to remove Indium from processors. But, be careful while handling the components to avoid any damage.

In bulk, dilute room tempered sulphuric acid dissolves the indium but not much else. Then I recovered some of it via electrowinning and the rest is sitting in a beaker. But it was only a small test batch, I haven't done it again.

Some of the gold is dissolved in the indium when the CPU is manufactured. If you dissolve the indium you can recover the gold in the sludge after filtering.
