My dad said these cost a lot. They look like gold but have a lot of base metals under them. I don't have a test kit yet but I've been stock piling karat gold and escrap way under what everyone says is profitable. Free stuff and " low ballin." I'm in Mensa and detail oriented and no doubt will be able to follow hokes... But I can't really eyeball these and gauge if they're gold and how to proceed. Please use this topic as a means to intrigue others with images for conversations.

All of my parcels have glass glazing that detracts from the extraction.

Please use this topic as a "what is this?" & " how to proceed." For noobs like myself.

Mensa, and you are going to process these?
I think you should listen to Dad.

If I'm mistaken, those are old time pill boxes. Before I processed them I would take them to an antique shop, and have them appraised. You may be surprised what they are worth.

Yeah dude, those have to be worth more as is, rather than processed.

You guys are right. Not worth processing. I got a bit of the gold fever and a few too many Teddy Brewski's last night. I found em in a box at my moms house. They've been in there for a long time. I'll ask her if she's willing to trade or sell them. I'll get back later.

Are there any hallmarks on them? If the egg is made of sterling, you would get at least hundreds for it on ebay. It could be sterling even without hallmarks. The golden items, if old and made of metal, could be fire-gilded http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilding, which is a quite heavy plating, evt. contaminated with traces of mercury, - not worth processing, since like the others already said, they are worth more, if sold to collectors.
