Hi my Friends!
I've been processing the cats that I've collected. I used zinc to drop the PGM's and now have quite a lot of waste solution containing ZnCl.
I am wondering if it would be feasible to drop the ZnCl and try to recover the zinc metal powder for reuse?
Any opinions are welcome. Thanks!
Art.

Art I'm not sure if it's economically feasible to recover the zinc but if your refining or recovering PGMs please use extreme care and wear gloves at all times..

Magnesium will cement out the zinc, but it will also contain any metals in the solution below magnesium in the activity series along with the zinc.

Probably not economical unless you can get the magnesium for free.
