two different types of Eproms

Hey all, just wondering how eproms are being run in process's. There are two different styles, one stone type ceramic much like older cpu's and then there is the black plastic style. The black plastic's i believe you could run through the patnor process then use possible AP on the metals. But what about the hard ceramics, break them up and do a AP process on them also? Im getting a lot of this stuff and ive done a bunch of research trying to figure out what people are doing with them and have found very little. Hope someone can help out please. tim

on the ceramic chips, you need only deal with the inner 1/3 of the package. the chip will be center of the package. i remove the legs using old AP solution that ive evaporated to the point of hcl decomposing. i make poor man's AR using sodium nitrate and the old AP solution.after the legs are removed, break the package in half as close to the middle as possible.no need to crush. most have a glass window but some have a metal cap or even a ceramic cap.just breaking them will give the chemicals access to all the metal in that spot.after enough is harvested and the legs removed, break them in half and process the same as you would any ceramic processor.
