unidentified material

i have a friend that has some material that i was skeptical about but he has done everything ive told him to do and still cant identify this stuff. its wire, it came from a white rectangular component from the ABS controller from a Cadillac Escalade. i believe its from an electromagnet but i cant be sure.he said he had some wire that would not dissolve well in AR. i told him to heat the wire in a flame to remove any coating and try again. he did with the same results. the one picture i have is the wire in AR after being heated. does anyone have any info on these types of components or any content info as to precious metals.
he is making stannous chloride in the morning to test with. he doesnt have tin to make any with tonight.
