I've been lurking here for awhile and I've finally realized what a gold mine of info that is this forum (pun intended).
I've spent the last 30 years in photo darkroom work. I have some basic chemistry knowledge and I can see how adding this information could lead me to better things.
Of course most of you would understand that the photo processing business is now history. I'm having to scrap out over $150,000 worth of pro lab equipment. Copper, stainless and aluminum are easy. I've also kept every gold plated contact and board fingers. In the end I also ran off many feet of old photo paper to get all the silver into solution.
In years past I just sent it all off to the refiner and let them have their way. Now that I'm truly poor again I need to find the most economical ways to get every last cent that I can out of what is left.
That's where this great forum will come in for me.
I'm working through Hoke's for the first time and I know that's the place to start. As well as absorbing as much as I can from all of you.
I have electrolytic recovery for my silver but I've never done anything beyond that. I have a question about the silver but I'll post in the correct section.
Hello every one and Thank You for sharing with me.
