I didnt even now they made chips this long ago. Unless the numbers are fooling me.

CA3045F is an NPN transistor array, originally designed by GE Solid State. B414 is the RCA lot number for this batch of parts. I’m not sure I follow your comment on the age of the parts(???)
 
He must have though this chip was made in the '45 ('41?) or something.

If so, that's what happens if you don't know a bit of history: the first chip ever was made in '58, and it was just a prototype.
 
I did assume it was made in 45 according to the numbers. I thought it seemed awfully odd, but I had no idea of the history of chip making. Thanks for the heads up a bab.
 
Yeah I guess I was wrong on the way I interepted the numbers on the chips I pictured. So I guess 72 is the oldest I've found so far. Nice find on the 68.
