hello

the contact points of a walky talky battery seems to be of pure gold :!: . they are like rivets joining the plastic case with an aliminum foil inside the battery. when i took one out it is not just the surface plated, its all gold yellow. i even scratched it and also found the same colour. can someone assure?

I do not know what kind of battery or “walky talky” you have, but I can assure you that the value you found in gold is less than the original price/cost of the battery. There is no good reason to have solid gold contacts for a battery that I can think of.

yes you are right. its a motorolla. dont know which model, but seems old. if its not gold platted, then what material is it.

I never suggested that the contacts could not be gold plated, but you were suggesting solid gold contacts. Gold can be plated very thinly.

Could be a copper-heavy brass with gold plate.

They are yellow brass. I have pulled apart hundreads of old police radios and equipment. Ask local fire halls and police stations if they have old equipment they would like to dispose of. You will find alot of precious metals in the equipment.
