Hi all..

so maths now :p

did i get it right ? with the SILVER PRO METHODE ?

let say this nice litle pin.. the one from a jumper

air X troy ounce X thickness

air: 0,705 X 0,024 (this is one surface) X 4 (this is for the 4 side of the pin) (i wont count top and bottum) X 1,570 (troy ounce price) X 0,30 (thickness of GP)
=0,0319$ of gold

lets say i have 100 of them... would make 3,19$ ?

starting several threads on the same topic clutters the forum. most of us read every new post.

there are several formulas to calculate gold content. the one variable that you missed is the thickness of the gold plate. its never the same, even from one piece to another from the same component. there are special machines that can tell you the thickness of gold plate but kind of out of the price range of most home refiners.
