I found some on ebay. I bought two sterling silver candle holders for $10. The holders were made of plaster and coated with a thin layer of sterling that easily peels off. Two candle holders provided 35.5 grams of Sterling Silver. Be sure to ask the seller if the items are truly sterling silver, if the items are hallmarked it is best.
You could also check local thrift stores and garage sales for sterling rings, charms, and chains, they add up quick. As little as 100 grams of sterling is enough to inquart an ozT of gold.
Canadian coins are also a viable source of silver. I'm sure GSP and Harold can share some more sources.
I got quite a bit of it. I buy scrap karat gold and silver, sterling and 92.5% only. I have all kinds, (coins 90%), silverware, rings, bracelets, necklaces pins and lots of other. I sell it with my karat gold. I get 90% spot for it. I will take that and you pay shipping. I also will guarantee it to be 92.5% or sterling which is the same. All coins to be silver at 80% to 90% according to the coins. American have 90% some Half dollars 50%
I wait until I get several pounds before I sell it.
PM me back if you are interested.
