Yeah I did go through this, although mine has turned completely golden I haven't had the time these past few days to get another acquaintance test done with HCl as suggested earlier.Don’t know if this is needed or not but I was just looking through one of Hokes books and it made me think of this post so I thought I’d throw it up here.
Second from the bottom. Tin-burns to dark oxide.
A pickle solution will get ride of the nasty bit on surface and leave a nice clean metal. Should anyway.
