By whatever methode I would like to know how much weight I will lose refining the following (please explain your formula):
* I have 30 grams of 22.1k Alaska gold nuggets, 20 mesh, and want to guesstimate what the final weight will be after refining (however many times it takes) to get 9999 gold.
- Note: The 22.1k was the average of several scans done with a calibrated XRF Gun.

Your question do not make a whole lot of sense, as it is unclear what you are asking for.
So what are you looking for?
Methods to refine or the theoretical content of Gold in your nuggets?

Have you studied the introductory links?

Since you didn't include a picture of the sample, we are guessing there may be some black sand included. For what it is worth, 20 mesh barely qualifies as nuggets, at least in my book.

I realize that haveagojoe gave you the answer you were looking for. Could you please answer the questions from Yggdrasil, especially the one concerning introductory links he provided you on another thread.

Thank you.

Time for more coffee.

I am working on the introductory links in my spare time. I needed an answer quickly. I apologize for being short with my previous response.

Don't take it personally bud, they just like to check if you've read the safety info. There are some people who come here with a very lax attitude towards safety, so mods appreciate a bit of reassurance that you've taken it on board.

I imagine it could be quite nervewracking modding on a forum which teaches a range of dangerous processes. Their tone can seem terse at times but I assure you it's not intended that way, it's just how it comes across in type.

I was looking for gold content in the nuggets. I wasn't looking for ways to refine. I am working on the introductory files in my spare time, I just needed a quick answer and didn't know how to phrase my question for a forum search. My post seemed pretty clear to me by creating a word problem. As I stated, I didn't know how else to phrase the question.

You hit the nail on the head! That's how I took it. I thought to myself, whats the point of a forum if I cant ask a simple question without getting a nasty response?
Yes i have read the safety guidelines, know about the dangerous fumes and skin contact dangers etc. I've done hundreds of hours (literally) of studying on how to refine. I've picked the processes i like, tried the ones I didn't like etc..
I appreciate your pointing this out i was very frustrated.

Yea to be fair it wasn't actually a refining processes question so no immediate danger. Anyway best of luck with whatever you do with your nuggets, that's a nice lot of gold!
