I have a couple pounds of these. I think they are a scanner part. They have lots of visable gold plating circuitry. I also have a couple pounds of these with silver tinted circuitry. Some can be removed like an EPROMS and are ceramic. What type of yield could be expected?
Any thoughts?

This is one of those things I look at as if you don't have gold to start with they do have value. How much? Not much, but more than having nothing. I have done a lot of these and they can be in printers and scanners as well as copy machines and old electric typewriters.
The plating on the legs aren't going to be much but most I have found do have gold bonding wires.
Take care

Those are CCD's or Charge Coupled Devices, used for scanning optical images. If you search on the forum you can find more information about them, maybe even some content info? Perhaps someone who has actually processed those will reply here and can give you some general idea of their value. There are so many brands and types though, and they all would vary in design and materials.

Knowing what you have is very important in determining what search terms to use. After reading the post from macfixer01 I entered "ccd" in the search box. Lots of info. Have fun!

From cashforcomputerscrap.com, price is per pound.

I'm guessing that the PCB's are going to fall somewhere between a high end telecom and HDD board just looking at the pictures.

$4.35 IC Chips
$3.95 to 6.00+ Telecom (Paid on Sort)
$9.25 Hard Drive Boards

Thanks for the info! Yes knowing the proper name greatly helps when trying to find info on any item. I did not know the proper name so I was at a dead end.

I even tried searching the part numbers on some of them with little success because most of them seemed to link me to the machine they came from and not just the specific part.

I figured someone on here would know something and I was right! Great sources on here especially when you can search through previous posts!

Im glad I know what I have and from there can decide where to go from there.
I will probably just keep separating them from the lots I get in until I have a large amount and hopefully by then some serious processing equipment.

Thanks again guys!
