I tried a search but came up with nothing. I kniow gold is for the most part is easy to visually determine on PC equipment, but what about other PMs? Are they located in the same spot or are they in a unique chip/area? Thanks either way.

I'm not the brightest light-bulb in the pack........ however something tells me not a whole lot of effort went into that search. This forum is filled with endless amounts of information.

Slickdog - what was your first clue - that fact that he said ---I kniow gold is for the most part is easy to visually determine on PC equipment, ---or --- the fact that he joined on 1/2/122 & then he asked on 1/2/12

rahibi --- this "same" question has been asked many, Many, MANY times before & the answer is in many, Many MANY place's here on the forum --- you just did not spend much of your own time looking for the answer.

That is a requirement expected of ALL new members - Take some "real time" looking for answers before asking questions so we don't have to waste time answering the same old questions over & Over & OVER again

What I will tell you at this time is that you can not see "most" of the gold :!: :!: :!:

Or Silver, Platinium or Palladium either.
Most of it is hidden in the components on the boards and this forum has many posts on how to recover most of these.

Thus the reason to sort and not discard every single piece of the board. I usually seperate all of my boards into bins containing gold parts, wiring, connector pins, transistors, chips, etc. etc. because from what I have learned in refining is that you don't want to mix all of these parts and lose some important PM.
