hello.

im studying electro plating in graduate...

my prof told me trying elecroplating 10 nm, so I found a 'Sel-rex Microfab Au100 1L' dusty bottle in my lab, and i Immediately tried gold plating! xD
(honestly, i never have been tried Electroplating in my life.)

i have success 50 nm deposit(used 1 mA 250~400 mV, 500 uA 450 mV), but i found some critical problem. voltage is changed. (if you need this record(V-time), just tell me i will share it!)

The voltage is changing(increased) every time I try. I guess, Microfab Au100 is evaporated when every each boiling, that has been loosing 50 ml every day. so i should be add something for maintaining solution concentration but Sel-rex is disappeared... TT

this is non-cyanide Au electro-plating solution. (because pH is closed to 8.)

what should i do for maintaining solution concentration?

One of our moderators, Chris Owen, Goldsilverpro worked for Sel Rex for many years but sadly passed away a few short months ago. He would have known the answer to this question in a heartbeat. This thread will remind many of us just how valuable Chris's knowledge and his willingness to share it was to this forum.

Sel Rex is gone but it's products (many of them) are still manufactured by MacDermid and MicroFab is among those products. Likely they can provide you with the specifications to operate that bath. This is where they can be found.

Really thank you sir!

thay was very good idea, but they all are talking about cyanide Au solution...

i got some information for this. Au solution(Microfab Au xxx line) was manufatured by Tanaka Kikinzoku (http://www.eeja.com/) in this quarter and 19/06/24 they are progressing Business integration now... if you contact to them they never answer anymore. (i tried.)

So, i just added DI water, this is still working. i will report this when i measure thickness by AFM.

Thank you!
